Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

Every Nation

For the past year I have been involved as director of the Prayer Task Force for the Assemblies of God World Missions. Our mission is to encourage the personal participation, commitment and involvement of every gospel believer in world evangelism through fasting and prayer for missions and missionaries in all nations.

On April 8, 2010, Nelma and I met with World Missions leadership in Springfield, Missouri and were asked to take this important assignment. It is the most overwhelming task that I have ever undertaken.

There are three reasons why this work is so important: First, the HEAVENLY FATHER spoke to HIS SON, “THOU art MY SON, this day have I begotten THEE. Ask of ME, and I will give THEE the heathen for THINE inheritance and the uttermost parts of the earth for THY possession” (Psalm 2:7, 8). Another translation is “Ask ME for the nations, and every nation shall belong to YOU!” (CEV).

The SON was given the people and nations of the earth as HIS domain and responsibility. GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believes in HIM, shall not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). JESUS loved us and gave HIMSELF for us.

JESUS told the disciples, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations” (Matthew 28:19). HE gave us the responsibility to reach the nations with HIS gospel. If we are CHRIST followers, then we must be involved in HIS work, to seek and to save those who are lost. This is the great commission.

If we join that innumerable force of obedient disciples, we see the final results of our labors. “After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindred’s, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the LAMB, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our GOD, which sitteth on the throne, and unto the LAMB” (Revelation 7:9, 10).

Only then, will our assignment be complete.
